The Staysure NI Legends returned for its second edition at Galgorm Castle Golf Club, with Steven Alker producing another masterclass to seal a remarkable run of form in Co. Antrim.
A proven championship venue, Galgorm has hosted the Northern Ireland Open, Irish Open and ISPS HANDA World Invitational. Its parkland setting, river-lined holes and subtle elevation changes rewarded accuracy and thoughtful course management all week.
The New Zealander shot a composed final-round 67 to reach -15, holding off a chasing pack on a day of low scoring and scoreboard fluctuations to win by two shots. It’s a third consecutive senior victory for Alker, following back-to-back wins on the PGA Tour Champions and his last start on the Staysure Legends Tour.
Alker held the lead through the first two rounds and, despite a stumble at the start of Sunday’s final round, found his rhythm with a trio of birdies around the turn to re-establish control and see the tournament out in style.
