Steven Alker completed a remarkable hat-trick of consecutive senior wins at the NI Legends at Galgorm, firing a composed final-round 67, shifting leaderboards in Co. Antrim. It capped a stellar month for the New Zealander, following back-to-back victories on PGA Tour Champions and building on the momentum of his first Legends Tour win at the WCM Mexico Senior Open in November 2024. Alker’s consistency has defined his 2025 season, from
a 7th-place finish at the ISPS HANDA Senior Open, where he led after an opening 63, to a tied-14th at the Senior PGA Championship (286, −2).
Plays with a condition called reactive arthritis, which manifests itself as inflammation (heat, pain and swelling) in the joints. Despite that condition, which clearly can affect a professional golfer, he won his card for the US PGA Tour in 2003, after finishing fourth on the 2002 Nationwide Tour.
Joined The European Tour after finishing 20th at the 2006 Qualifying School – Final Stage, having won seven times around the world, with tournament victories in America, Australia, Canada, Fiji and Tahiti.
He has since gone on to win five times on the PGA Champions Tour – clinching the 2022 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, his first senior major title.
