Won his fifth European Tour title at the 2017 Joburg Open, sixteen years after his first win at the Sao Paulo Brazil Open in 2001.
Has also won 15 events on the Sunshine Tour, and topped their Order of Merit in 2000 and 2004.
Partnered with Retief Goosen in the 2000 WGC-World Cup.
In 2025, Fichardt made his debut on the Legends Tour at the OFX Irish Legends, finishing tied for second place.
He continued with strong performances at the Senior PGA Championship (8th) and narrowly lost in a play off at The Staysure PGA Seniors Championship.
Fichardt claimed his first Legends Tour title with a bogey free 66 round, securing his one-shot victory at the Vattanac Legends Championship Legacy Edition in Cambodia.
He followed this with victory at the 2026 Senior PGA Championship, returning a year after his play-off defeat to finish 12-under par and claim the title with a five shot lead.
