He won his breakthrough Legends Tour title at La Manga in the Farmfoods European Senior Masters and was 4th in the Irish Legends event, also finishing as runner-up in the season finale at the MCB Tour Championship which helped him to end the year placed 5th in the Road to Mauritius rankings as he was also named the 2023 Barry Lane Rookie of the Year.
The Swede rates his short

A Christmas gift of a seven iron from his father got 9-year-old Patrik into golf, but a car crash which resulted in him being in intensive care for a month in 1992 has left him lucky to be playing the game at all.
He played on the DP World Tour from 1996, winning twice in three years as he would claim the 1998 Italian Open and the 2000 Murphy’s Irish Open. He lost his card in 2005 and fell out of love with the sport, playing just three professional events in 2006. However, he soon rediscovered a desire to practice and successfully came through Q-school in 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2013.
Patrik stopped playing on the DP World Tour in 2015 and went back to his first workplace – a factory in his hometown. When he first started there, aged 16, his boss was also his ice hockey coach and would become his first sponsor when Patrik turned pro.
Having returned as an adult, Patrik stayed at the factory until he joined the Legends Tour in 2023, which he says gives him the enjoyment of “competing again, seeing beautiful new places and meeting up with old friends”.
