Enjoyed his most successful season on tour in 2006, adding victory on home soil at the BMW Championship to his HSBC Champions win and going on to make his second appearance in The Ryder Cup.
A member of Europe’s victorious Ryder Cup sides in 2004 and 2006.
Became the European Tour’s Tournament Committee Chairman in 2017.
Made his 600th European Tour appearance at the 2018 Nordea Masters.
Had a successful amateur career, winning the British Boys Championship in 1993 and was part of Great Britain & Ireland’s 1995 Walker Cup victory at Royal Porthcawl.
