The Argentinian made his Legends Tour debut at the Barbados Legends hosted by Ian Woosnam in May 2024. He would finish in a tie for 11th place on -3 at Apes Hill after rounds of 70, 68 and 72. He would then go on to win the Paul Lawrie Match Play presented by Petsure at Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel & Country Club in June after beating James Kingston 3&1 in
the final.
After his victory, Cabrera said: “I’m very happy. I worked hard in the last three months, very hard for this. Now, for this moment, I enjoyed it. I can say I feel very emotional now.”
He could have added a second green jacket to his Major collection but lost a play-off with Adam Scott at Augusta National in 2013.
Cabrera won five times on the DP World Tour and has claimed three PGA Tour titles.
He played on four international teams at the Presidents Cup from 2005 to 2013, represented Argentina nine times at the World Cup from 1998 to 2006 and three times in the Alfred Dunhill Cup.
Cabrera is affectionately nicknamed “El Pato” – the Duck!
