From 17 to 20 September, it will host the European Legends Cup by SR Nexus, a Staysure Legends Tour event that will bring together some of the players who defined an era in European golf while celebrating the arrival of a new title sponsor.

The European Legends Cup by SR Nexus will celebrate its third edition this year, consolidating its position as one of the most attractive tournaments on the Staysure Legends Tour schedule. The inaugural edition was played in 2023 at Almerimar (Almería), where Brazilian Adilson da Silva became the tournament’s first champion. One year later, the event moved to Real Nuevo Club de Golf de Basozábal in San Sebastián, where Australian Scott Hend claimed the title. Now it is Fontanals Golf’s turn to host a tournament that continues to grow and strengthen its prestige within Europe’s leading over-50s golf circuit.

The players who thrilled Europe in the Ryder Cup will once again compete together. From 17 to 20 September, Fontanals Golf will welcome some of the biggest names in European golf history for the European Legends Cup by SR Nexus, giving fans the opportunity to once again enjoy watching the players who inspired an entire generation of golfers.

The field will include former Ryder Cup players, DP World Tour champions and winners of some of the world’s most prestigious tournaments, making the European Legends Cup by SR Nexus one of the standout events on the Staysure Legends Tour calendar.

The arrival of the Staysure Legends Tour at Fontanals Golf is far from an isolated event. It forms part of a long-term project that has positioned Fontanals Golf among the most active tournament venues in southern Europe. In just a few years, the club has hosted the DP World Tour Qualifying School Second Stage, progressed to staging events on the HotelPlanner Tour, and now welcomes the Staysure Legends Tour, becoming one of the few European venues capable of bringing together the future, the present and the past of professional golf.

The European Legends Cup by SR Nexus is also part of Fontanals Golf’s strategy to establish a consistent calendar of major international tournaments.
