Michael Jonzon will take a narrow lead into the final round of the Legends Tour’s 2026 Qualifying School after producing the lowest round of the day on day three at Gloria Golf Resort in Belek, Turkey.
The Swede leads at six-under-par following a superb 66 on the New Course. He holds a one-shot advantage over Englishman Paul Streeter and Northern Ireland’s Cameron Clark, who are tied for second at five-under-par. Frenchman Anthony Grenier sits in fourth place at three-under-par, occupying the final automatic qualifying position, while a tightly packed chasing group at two-under-par — Rafa Barcellos, Fredrik Henge and David Shacklady — remain firmly in contention with one round still to play.
Jonzon’s third-round performance proved decisive in cold and blustery conditions, combining sharp iron play with smart decision-making to seize control of the leaderboard as the battle for the four full Legends Tour cards intensifies.
Reflecting on his round, Jonzon said:
“I played really nicely. I hit some good iron shots pretty close and kept the ball out of trouble most of the day. I had one or two good breaks as well, but overall it was very solid.”
He continued:
“The conditions were pretty cold and windy, but I don’t really mind tough weather. You still have to go out and play aggressive without taking stupid risks, because there will be guys shooting good scores from behind.”
Tied for second place, Streeter and Clark both remain within striking distance heading into the closing day.
For Clark, firmly back in contention after last year’s near-miss, the stakes are clear.
“It would be huge,” he said. “It’s something I’ve dreamt about for a while now and, although I don’t play that much golf, I still feel I’ve got the game to do it. It would mean so much to get it done.”
Streeter also had to grind in difficult conditions but produced a strong finish to keep himself firmly in the mix.
“It was a bit of a day really,” he said. “It was cold, the wind picked up, and it was tough, but I managed to get myself together and made a couple of good birdies coming in to keep me in it.”
He added:
“I think patience is key. You can only go at pins if you’re in a decent position. Sometimes the middle of the green is not a bad play.”
Grenier remains well placed in fourth, while Barcellos, Henge and Shacklady continue to apply pressure just behind, ensuring the final card positions remain finely balanced.
Henge reflected on the challenge ahead as conditions continued to test the field.
“It’s playing tough now with firm greens and the wind blowing, so you really have to pick your spots, I’m just trying to take one shot at a time, stay patient but still be aggressive when I can. I’m really looking forward to tomorrow and seeing what happens.”
With round three complete, 42 players have advanced to the final day, where a further cut has ensured that only those within 10 shots of fourth place remain in contention. The top four finishers after the closing 18 holes will earn full playing rights for the 2026 Legends Tour season.
The final round will once again be played on the New Course at Gloria Golf Resort, where firm greens and exposed conditions are expected to provide a demanding examination, with four cards on the line and everything still to play for.
