The tournament arrives at Sir Nick Faldo’s signature course in Kent for three days of competition, with a field featuring former World Number One Lee Westwood, 2005 U.S. Open Champion Michael Campbell, former Ryder Cup Captain Paul McGinley and defending champion Steve Webster.

Webster returns looking to retain the Staysure English Legends title he claimed in 2025, while Westwood makes his first appearance on the Staysure Legends Tour after his participation at Chart Hills was announced earlier this month.

Westwood heads into the week looking forward to competing alongside familiar faces from throughout his career, having watched the growth of the Staysure Legends Tour from afar.

“I watched a bit of the Legends Tour on TV and it looks like a good Tour and competitive still, and people are having fun out here,” said Westwood.

“It’s a good opportunity, in the middle of the season, to play another tournament and come and see everybody.

“It’s great fun. It’s great to turn up and see all your old friends and the people you grew up starting the journey with really.”

The former World Number One, who represented Europe in 11 Ryder Cups during a career spanning more than three decades, is also relishing the opportunity to remain competitive.

“I’m still quite long. It’s quite nice to get out there and be one of the longer ones. I can still get it out there 300, 310 quite regularly, so I can play pretty much any golf course still.

“When you’ve been successful on Tour and you’re getting older, it’s nice to have an opportunity to play Legends Tour and still be competitive, because that’s the thing I think you really miss as you get older – that competitive side.”

The action at Chart Hills has already begun, with Thursday morning seeing a special match play contest bring together golf legends and two of the biggest names in YouTube golf.

Michael Campbell and Jimmy Bullard took on Paul McGinley and Peter Finch, with little separating the two teams throughout an entertaining contest.

After the opening holes remained all square, Campbell birdied the 13th, only for Finch to respond with a superb 15-foot birdie putt. The 2005 U.S. Open Champion then produced one of the moments of the match, rolling in a 20-foot putt to put Campbell and Bullard 1-up through 14, before McGinley responded on the 15th with an excellent putt of his own to bring the match back to level – where it would stay until the end, with Finch holing a nervy par putt on 18 to secure the half.

The contest provided the perfect curtain-raiser to the Staysure English Legends, combining the personalities and reach of YouTube golf with the pedigree of Major champions and Ryder Cup stars ahead of the start of tournament play on Friday.

Away from the fairways, spectators can enjoy the Tournament Village and Destination Pavilion throughout the weekend, featuring food and drink, interactive partner activations and opportunities to discover and win golfing experiences around the world.

Tournament play gets underway on Friday, with the field competing across 54 holes before the 2026 Staysure English Legends champion is crowned on Sunday afternoon.

With a field packed with Major champions, Ryder Cup stars and Tour winners, the stage is set for a memorable three days of golf at Chart Hills.
