Cévaër was delighted to have posted a blemish free round in the first outing of the Jersey Legends since 2016, and admits it’s great to play on such a beautiful course.
“It felt wonderful,” he said. “When the game rewards you in that way I will take it and welcome every second of it, it’s wonderful.
“I’m really happy and I am from Saint-Cloud Golf Club which had Percy Boomer the hall of famer teacher who came from La Moye Golf Club so that is special to me, and Saint-Malo Golf Club and Saint-Malo Golf Resort is so near so I took the ferry, and I am so happy to discover this beautiful links course, it’s so scenic and unbelievable golf course so I am really happy about it all.
“It’s not a long course so it works in my favour anyways and I love links golf even though links golf can be really tough but today it went my way.”
The two-time DP World Tour winner competed in the first Legends Tour event of the season at the Riegler & Partner Legends and wasn’t too happy with the outcome, finishing in a tie for 48th place, but said he is happy to have found his form again.
“I’m really happy with the feel of my golf swing obviously in the sense that when we played Austria, I was not too happy about a few things so I sorted out some technical issues and it’s all about rhythm.
In a tie for fifth position consists of six-time DP World Tour winner Niclas Fasth, two-time DP World Tour winner Andrew Sherborne and Ricardo Gonzalez of Argentina.
The Alliance Series is being played alongside the Jersey Legends and is currently being led by Switzerland’s Silvia Caduff, closely followed by former swimmer Mark Foster in second place.
The second round of the Jersey Legends will begin at 8:00am local time on Saturday, with Cévaër teeing it up at 9:00am alongside England’s Andrew Raitt.
