TOURNAMENT/THE FIELD
One of the strongest fields of the year, this year’s tournament is hosted by Colin Montgomerie.
Ryder Cup captains Paul McGinley, Ian Woosnam and José María Olazábal are playing along with Major winners John Daly, Paul Lawrie, Shaun Micheel and Michael Campbell, just to name a few.
The professional tournament is made up of four rounds of stroke play.
The starting field of 90 will be cut to the top 60 professionals & ties after round 2.
Presentation of trophy to winner will be made on 18th green after close of play on Sunday.
Patrons can walk the course, there are no gallery ropes – so you can follow the players on the fairways and get an up-close view of them in action. It is a spectator view like no other in professional golf. A unique experience.
• Round 1 and 2 get underway at 0730 on Thurs/Fri.
• Round 3 starts at 0830 on Saturday.
• Final round begins at 0830 on Sunday.
200 local volunteers will help to marshal the tournament out on the golf course.
